Wisdom Addo is currently an M.A candidate in Peace Studies.
He is the Executive Director at the West Africa Centre for Peace Foundation (WACPF), a non-governmental organization that serves the youth in schools and communities through education on human rights, leadership trainings, and peace building in Ghana. Wisdom also serves as the Africa Chapter Coordinator for the PeaceJam Foundation USA. His work aims to provide peace education to the youth and focuses on the acquisition and advancement of capacities, skills, values and knowledge, thus contributing to the establishment of a global and sustainable culture of peace.
Wisdom has a background in peace and conflict studies, including conflict resolution, human rights, gender, mediation, negotiation, and peace building. He has led both local and international workshops in the field of peace and conflict studies, and became involved in several international projects from which he learnt firsthand that other cultures also struggle with how best to resolve differences and conflict.
His background is in conflict analyses and peace-building from the Central European University and The Network University, while his bachelor’s degree in Computer Science was awarded by the Association of Computer Professionals (ACP) in the United Kingdom. Wisdom also holds a professional development certificate in peace and conflict from the Rotary Peace Center in Chulalongkorn University, as well as a certificate in International Civilian Peacekeeping and Peacebuilding from the Austrian Study Centre for Peace and Conflict Resolution.
His research focuses on the role of Women in Liberia’s Truth and Reconciliation Commission.
